“Media Advocate” has repeatedly addressed this issue and urged the authorities not to put pressure on the media and journalists.
The organization cited the case of Knar Manukyan when chief editor of the Zhoghovurd daily was asked to reveal her source.
“Media Advocate” also touched upon the issue of 91 lawsuits filed against the media during one year.
We hope that the authorities and individuals will take notice of such an international response and will stop the vicious activities against the media.
Such cases violate the international image of the Republic of Armenia and violate freedom of speech.
