Public TV did not touch upon the protests, press conferences demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the scandal over the Ministry of Education

During its December 4 newscasts the Public Television did not cover the protests in front of the government building demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister. It did not refer to the press conference of “Sisakan” regiment commander Ashot Minasyan. The latter announced that when not being sober Nikol Pashinyan had given an order to capture Lele Tepe. Ashot Minasyan said he has evidence, besides he invited Nikol Pashinyan to a duel.

The media did not refer to the press conference of Artsakh war participant Jirair Sefilian. He stated that the political leadership is the one that betrayed, and the war could have ended with another outcome, by keeping Shushi. The news outlet did not present the uproar over the new reforms of the Ministry of Education. YSU Chair of Armenian Language condemned the attempts to devalue the native language. They considered it inadmissible to leave the subject of Armenian language and literature at the entrance exams to the choice of universities or entrants. It is proposed to elect the rector not by the university, but let him/her be appointed by the ministry. YSU deans demanded from the National Assembly to urgently withdraw the draft law.

“Media Advocate” initiative considers the working style of the Public Television unacceptable; the publicly funded TV Company is obliged to present the important events that have received public attention. Recently, the news outlet has been bypassing a number of topics, which, in fact, can somehow harm the authorities.
