The editor-in-chief of the BlogNews news agency Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan has been attacked. Ter-Nakalyan received a stab and cut wound.
“Media Advocate” initiative condemns all kind of acts of violence. This is a consequence of calls to violence voiced in the Republic in recent days. Hate speech and threats have reached their peak nowadays.
Such calls are splitting our society, further exacerbating the tense atmosphere and preparing the ground for such violent actions.
We hope that the police will be consistent and take immediate measures to prevent attacks on media and opposition figures. The authorities are the addressee and the responsible for this explosive situation. We urge the police to be vigilant, identify those responsible and held them accountable for it.
