The NA “Bright Armenia” fraction will express distrust in the Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan. On September 16, the resignation of the minister will be demanded at the plenary sitting of the National Assembly. In support of that demand, the BA party invites the citizens to a protest action in front of the National Assembly on the same day. Ani Samsonyan, a member of the “Bright Armenia” fraction, told the press that within two years, the opposition’s vote of distrust has been ignored or unanimously rejected by the government.

Political scientist Gagik Hambaryan, referring to Arayik Harutyunyan, noted: “The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan imitated one of the worst features of Serzh Sargsyan’s power, the inviolability of the members of his own taifa (a party, band or faction) … Serzh Sargsyan also had the so-called untouchables in his government, whose behavior caused disgust to the majority of the society … Nikol rules with the same arrogant style. There are inviolable “holy cows” in his team one of whom is Arayik Harutyunyan, the ESCS-LMNO Minister, a liar, a mischief-maker, who is still afraid to come to Shirak State University, who tried with his intrigues to discredit the AYB school and so far has not presented any evidence of corruption to the public, a person who is promoting anti-Armenian, anti-state reforms in the field of education, etc.

The deputy of the NA “My Step” fraction Arsen Julfalakyan also announced about resigning from his mandate. The deputy mentioned his disagreement with Arayik Harutyunyan which, according to him, as the main reason for resigning from the mandate.
