Almost no positive articles were published on Anna Hakobyan

From 1 to 10 August, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 131 articles were declared, 45 of which were negative, 1 was positive and 85 were neutral.

Almost no positive articles were published on the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan.

The media outlets note that Anna Hakobyan’s brother, NA deputy Hrachya Hakobyan has bought a private house:  “Someone wrote that Anna Hakobyan’s brother, Hrachya Hakobyan who has become NA MP as a consequence of being Nikol Pashinyan’s brother-in-law, bought a private house in Dzoraghbyur which cost 25.000 dollar (surely, I should have written “due to” considering, the Armenian language rules but having sucհ an MP is nothing but a “consequence”.”

Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan gave an interview and, according to the media, made an incredible confession. “Today my husband is doing it, he is trying to make our country the country he described to me in our conversations back in 1995, the country he has writing about in every article every single day, for decades, and now he is doing it step by step. It is another question that some things happen faster, some slower.” The publication states that this is not a bad, but actually a terrible statement. In fact, the chaos that prevails in our country today and in the life of the people has been the dream of the head of state and will continue to come true. For example, his dream was the notorious, anti-national education standards, which seem to have been written not in Armenia, but by the hands of our ancient opponents, by Turkey and Azerbaijan.

The media notes that Arsen Torosyan will soon be dismissed from the post of a minister. According to the press, there are two possible candidates for the position of the Minister of Health. The first candidate is YSMU lecturer Davit Melik-Nubaryan, who is lobbied by Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan and her brother, and the second is Aram Sahakyan, the son of famous surgeon Artavazd Sahakyan, who is the friend of Pashinyan’s nephew Sipan Pashinyan and MP Hakob Simidyan. They are compatriots. Now Sipan is doing everything possible to thwart Anna Hakobyan’s plans to make Melik-Nubaryan a minister.

Political scientist Aghasi Yenokyan, referred to the events in Amulsar, on his Facebook page: “Government MP Vahagn Tevosyan says: “My personal attitude towards the Amulsar issue is somewhat different from the attitude that I, as an official, am obliged to adopt during my activity. I may have a personal opinion on various phenomena, but as an official, I must be consistent so that every process is implemented within the legal norms, because it is a culture that we must pass on.” We are witnessing such kind of positions from other government circles as well, in particular, the Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan expressed a similar opinion when hosted by Azatutyun’s Facebook press conference program. Let us inform the respectable deputy and the others that the personal opinions of him and his colleagues are the pre-election provisions, due to which they “grabbed” 70% of the votes. Now they not only can express their opinion freely, but they are obliged to do so, moreover, they are obliged to do everything so as to turn that opinion into reality.”
