Public TV has again bypassed the topic of Amulsar

The Public Television referred to the action of the activists protesting against the exploitation of the Amulsar mine in front of the National Assembly on August 10, but did it without presenting any footage, only noting that the ombudsman’s hotline received numerous calls in relation to the incident. Despite the peaceful protest of the defenders of Amulsar, the police detained them. The activists wanted to meet and talk with the pro-government deputies, but at the end of the day, no one met them. Again, all the TV channels covered the event except the Public TV. “Media Advocate” initiative considers such a working style of the media unacceptable. We remind you again that the Public Television is financed at the expense public funds, it is obliged to refer to the events that affect the public interest. It should be noted that Public TV bypassed one of the most important incidents of the day, while it prepared a report entitled “Problematic Privatization Stories from the Past”. We urge the Public Television to put the public interest above its political preferences.
