On July 3, Petros Ghazaryan’s guests on Public TV were the authors of the new standards of history subject, David Tinoyan, who is engaged in the elaboration of the Armenian history subject taught in high schools, and the head of the group, Lilit Mkrtchyan who, by the way, were the target of heated criticism lately. Petros Ghazaryan referred to the criticism why there is no word “patriotism”, then joked ․ “But write, can not you write the word “patriotism” ten times?” Lilit Mkrtchyan answered: “If you explain me what patriotism is, give me its description, the instrument, I will measure who is more patriotic and who is not.”
Petros Ghazaryan presented his opinion on patriotism, then noted․ “Ask Ashot Melkonyan, he should know it by heart.” Then he asked why there is no name of the kings of Bagratuni, and added: “You are ready to have a face-to-face debate with those respected professors, with those academic giants.” By the way, Petros Ghazaryan failed to give the guests an equal opportunity to speak, Lilit Mkrtchyan regularly interrupted the guest, she, herself, answered the questions, it was obvious that David Tinoyan was not really pleased that his colleague did not allow him to finish the sentence every time, and Petros Ghazaryan did not coordinate the situation. The latter ended the interview with the following call․ “Dear Mr. Melkonyan, other well-known academic giants, the writers are ready to debate face to face, we are waiting for your response.”
