The Public Television biasedly presented the incident between Edmon Marukyan and Sasun Mikayelyan

On May 10, during Sunday Issue of the Public Television, there was an extensive reference to the incident between Edmon Marukyan and Sasun Mikaelyan occurred in the National Assembly. In about 10-minute report, the journalist presented a detailed information: from whom and how the incident started, the Marukyan-Tunyan backtalk, how Tunyan answered from his place, how Sasun Mikayelyan interfered. The journalist presented the reaction of all the sides; however, it was not done equally, besides, the fact that Edmon Marukyan had appeared live on the same day clarifying the incident was not mentioned in the report. Instead, half of the report was based on the Prime Minister’s speech.

“Media Advocate” has already mentioned that the incident was not comprehensively covered on the website of the National Assembly, the same mistake is made by the Public Television, which should have been more responsible for the comprehensive coverage of the incident, as it is financed by public funds, and the meaning of its existence, its mission is to represent the public interest.
