No positive articles were declared on Tigran Avinyan

From 21 to 30 April, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the RA Deputy Prime Minister, Commandant Tigran Avinyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 593 articles were declared, 71 of which were negative and 522 were neutral.

No positive articles were declared on RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.

Referring to the issue of tobacco seized in Russia, media wrote that the Russian ambassador called Tigran Avinyan several times, but failed to receive any answer: “The Russian ambassador to Armenia has repeatedly called Tigran Avinyan to clarify the issue on import of illegal cigarettes into Russia, but the secretary responded that she can not transfer the call to Avinyan. The Russian ambassador had to contact Deputy Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan; no other details are known.”

There have been rumors circulating in the press for days that Tigran Avinyan has written a resignation letter. According to the publications, the fact that this news has been officially denied does not mean that the official data represents the reality. According to the publications, Avinyan has become an undesirable person for Pashinyan, everyone is talking about that․ Moreover, Pashinyan considers Avinyan his main rival, who has managed to earn the title of the government’s  “grey eminence” in two years.

According to the press, an incident occurred between, Vilen Gabrielyan (Navak Chochogh) and Tigran Avinyan. A fight broke out between two officials in the Government Country House, media states․ Furthermore, two days later the two officials continued to insult each other in the Government building.
