From 21 to 30 April, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Minister Arayik Harutyunyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 366 articles were declared, 27 of which were negative, 3 were positive and 336 were neutral.
RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (ESCS) Arayik Harutunyan is being constantly criticized.
Arayik Harutunyan’s decision, according to which the admission process in Institute of Theatre and Cinematography will be organized without exam has been criticized. Specialists of the field consider this decision as an absurdity.
The fact that $1,318,000 award was allocated to the ESCS in 20 months has been criticized either.
According to the letter received by one of the media outlets, the parents are complaining against Arayik Harutyunyan’s decision that the school grades received during the online classes will not be taken into account, that is to say the quarters and the final results will be summed up based on the March data.
