Public TV violated the presumption of innocence of Arthur Gevorgyan

Arthur Gevorgyan, a former member of the National Assembly, claims that he was informed from the press about the accusation and about declared wanted. He gave an interview to the 5th channel during which he presented his point of view. He accused the Public Television of spreading misinformation. “It was not appropriate for Public TV to make a whole film and devote it to my modest personality. It is not proper for Public television, which I have always considered very decent, even only for its name, to spread false news, misinformation. What I have heard on television and in the media, what I am accused of, is simply a lie. ”

“Media Advocate” initiative got acquainted with a unilateral report presented on Public Television for about 4 minutes, during which they did not try to contact and personally clarify the details from Arthur Gevorgyan. The publicly funded TV company was obliged to present the opinion of the opposite side. This, in fact, was another step of the Public TV to support the authorities. Arthur Gevorgyan blames the authorities and, in particular, the police, as no notice was issued,  no one informed him of the happening and he was declared wanted. In his speech, he mentioned that an attempt is being made to defame his name.
