“Media Advocate” Initiative conducted a meeting with the coordinator of “No” campaign side, human rights activist Ruben Melikyan. During the meeting Melikyan presented the principles of the campaign activities. He informed that they cooperate with the various political and public forces opposing the referendum. At the same time, the focus of the group of lawyers is on the legal process of the campaign. A number of violations have already been reported, including a gross violation by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Suren Papikyan, who is also the head of the “Yes” campaign. The Central Election Commission responded to this case stating that Papikyan acted as a Minister of Territorial Administration and actually conducted a campaign. According to Ruben Melikyan, the Prime Minister’s campaign on March 7 was also legally problematic. Ruben Melikyan also noted that they had responded quickly to allegations that the “No” campaign side had distributed money, urging law enforcement agencies to investigate the cases.
