“Media Advocate” urges Public TV’s management to exclude such cases

“Media Advocate” initiative once again noticed that the Public Television’s information department has a clearly outlined political stance and does not respect the rights of others. This time, Public TV’s journalist Gevorg Tosunyan, referring to the incident with the Head of the YSU Student Council, David Apoyan, made unprofessional statement, which is not appropriate for a journalist, especially when the latter is an employee of a publicly funded TV company.

The journalist who actually receives his salary from public taxes, accuses David of being “immersed in the criminal culture.” Is there a verdict, has David’s guilt or connection been proven, or has the fact of taking him to the police station with handcuffs been a basis for the reporter? According to publications and experts’ opinions, taking David with handcuffs was also an illegal act, as it turned out later; the SC Head had no connection with the incident.

“Media Advocate” urges Public TV’s management to exclude such cases, to work with the media staff, pointing out the source of their salaries and the importance of maintaining neutrality.
