“Media Advocate” Initiative was informed that more than 10 men attacked Kentron TV cameraman conducting his job in rural community Hovtashat. The video shows how they offend the cameraman and damage the camera.
“Media Advocate” has repeatedly stated that attacks on the media should be punished, but, as a matter of fact, the attack on Hayeli (Mirror) Press Club has been suspended for months, there is no information on the intrusion to “Zhoghovurd” daily newspaper’s editorial office either. Here is the third aggressive case which is nothing but the result of an atmosphere of permissiveness and impunity.
“Media Advocate” Initiative urges not to leave the case unanswered so as the perpetrators are found and punished. The police should immediately investigate the case and take certain measures. “Media Advocate”’s team expresses its support to Kentron TV and its cameraman.
By the way, according to the information we have received, one of the main assumptions is that those men are directed and the governor of Ararat, Garik Sargsyan stands behind the incident.
