Azatutyun TV’s November 14 issue referred to the resignation of Public Council Head Vazgen Manukyan. The report was almost entirely based on the speech of MP Arman Babajanyan, which was critical. The opinion of NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan was also presented. Mirzoyan, in his turn, accused Manukyan of making political statements.
“Media Advocate” initiative notes that reports on Vazgen Manukyan’s resignation are unilaterally presented for two consecutive days. No counterbalancing viewpoint is presented. We, once again urge “Azatutyun” to stop such practice and to uphold the norms of journalistic ethics.
