From 21 to 31 August, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan’s personality and activities.
35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 45 articles were declared, 5 of which were negative, 6 were positive and 34 were neutral.
The positive articles on Gagik Tsarukyan exceed the number of negative ones by one. The basis of positive articles is MP’s public activity; “Gagik Tsarukyan” Charitable Foundation has donated school bags to first grade pupils. It is also noted that due to Gagik Tsarukyan, various internationally recognized people regularly visit the Republic of Artsakh.
According to one of the news outlets, citizens applied to various deputies, including Gagik Tsarukyan, for financial assistance, but received no response.
By the way, the conflict between Arthur Gevorgyan and Gagik Tsarukyan continues. Arthur Gevorgyan continues to accuse Gagik Tsarukyan of interfering in boxing affairs. “We are more inclined to think that the issues are solved behind the scenes, as it has been before. Gagik Tsarukyan and Arayik Harutyunyan decide the fate of Armenian boxing by force. Arayik Harutyunyan also does not like to providing justification and substantiation on the absurdities of the ministry. The conclusion is clear, this minister, too, is unable to provide independence and somehow create counterbalance against Gagik Tsarukyan, moreover, he actually helps him with his actions.”
As for Gagik Tsarukyan’s political activity, it is almost absent, the media does not refer to Gagik Tsarukyan as a politician, as a Member of Parliament who holds a mandate.
