Nikol Pashinyan’s team has stopped controlling the situation

From 21 to 30 April, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan’s personality and activities.

34 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 3001 articles were declared, 716 of which were negative, 158 were positive and 2127 were neutral.

Negative articles on Prime Minister Pashinyan increased during this ten-day period. The society and the media are dissatisfied with Nikol Pashinyan’s team. The prime minister mentioned about 50,000 new workplaces which was widely criticized. The press accused the prime minister of using manipulative data. Then a comment followed saying Pashinyan’s team is to be blamed as it is not competent and it presents wrong data to the Prime Minister. The Medvedev-Pashinyan incident was also a matter of hot discussions, after which Pashinyan explained the situation during his Facebook live.

The monitoring results show that Nikol Pashinyan’s team has stopped controlling the situation, which negatively affects the Prime Minister’s rating.
