“Media Advocate” Initiative was informed that the SIS (Special Investigative Service) has launched a criminal case on the conviction of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan based on the publication of Hraparak daily.
This step is another pressure against the media. Such a working style has become a habit for the authorities. They put pressure on their opponents by means of force structures.
The concern of the international organization Reporters Without Borders, according to which the lawsuits against the media in Armenia are unprecedented has not received any attention, moreover, the cases of pressure continue.
“Media Advocate” initiative urges to put an end to such a vicious way of working and to terminate the criminal proceedings.
