According to the announcement of the border troops of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, from now on the media must have a special permission to publish information regarding the border areas of the RA Syunik region.
“Media Advocate” initiative considers this decision the most primitive step against freedom of speech. The NSS border troops, in fact, follow the will of the authorities. The latter ones, in turn, want to restrict freedom of speech so that information on regular handing over of the territories is not widely disseminated.
“Media Advocate” initiative urges not to violate the law and not to deprive the citizens of the right to receive information, defined by the Constitution.
