Petros Ghazaryan’s yet another quarrel with the guest

On December 6, the topic of the public discussion on Public TV was: “Who is to blame? What to do?” Solutions to the crisis.” Petros Ghazaryan’s guests were Boris Navasardyan, Head of the Yerevan Press Club, Hovsep Khurshudyan Head of the “Free Citizen” NGO, writer, publicist Vasak Gharibyan, human rights activist Avetik Ishkhanyan.

At the beginning of the discussion, after Hovsep Khurshudyan’s remark, that how they dare demand to return to power, Petros Ghazaryan responded: “I guess Avetik Ishkhanyan will answer that question.” The human rights activist answered: “You asked a slightly incorrect question, what it means that Avetik Ishkhanyan will answer that question, whether the former ones want to return? Am I the one who should answer to that question? Please be correct.”

The commentator asked what was incorrect. Ishkhanyan continued: “If we are talking about the formers, you are one of the former ones, as during their tenure you worked for Kentron TV.  Petros Ghazaryan interrupted: “And in which TV Company should I work?” You showed me my place, now please answer the question.” The human rights activist addressed Hovsep Khurshudyan: “I am surprised when different forces start justifying the loser. When you talk about robbers, do you realize you address everyone gathered there, you say populist things, the Heritage Party was with those robbers, you fought against Serzh Sargsyan until 2015, why were you with the robbers in the fight? ” Khurshudyan answered: “That was the only option at that time.” Ishkhanyan continued: “You said not an inch of land, today you have agreed to capitulation. That is your face, you have lost, you have been disgraced but you still defend the loser. In such a difficult situation, after the psychological defeat, who should dare to take responsibility for getting out of this situation? Anyone take responsibility for the position. There are very primitive rumors, a fight for power, maybe there are people in those parties who are seeking for a power, but it is beyond my imagination for anyone to take responsibility for the position in these conditions. No matter how much we criticize the former authorities, the Prime Minister is responsible for the defeat. Show me a country where the defeated leader has not resigned.”

Boris Navasardyan agreed that the Prime Minister should have left immediately; that the opposition had taken all the steps necessary to start that dialogue by November 9, but it was rejected by the government. Vasak Gharibyan agreed with the opinion voiced by his colleagues and added: “There is a constitution, procedures. There are constant saviors, trying to save this nation, one does not know from whom. The street has been deciding for more than 30 years, in fact we have become a street nation.” Khurshudyan urged the society to unite and find an alternative candidate.
