The general picture of the coverage of the Karabakh conflict in the Foreign media from October 25 to 28

From October 25 to 28, 2020, “Media Advocate” initiative monitored the publications of 5 leading foreign media outlets to find out how the foreign media covered the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan. The websites of the following media outlets were monitored: “BBC”, “CNN”, “Reuters”, “Associated Press” (AP), and “Deutsche Welle” (DW-English version).

The BBC news agency published 4 articles. The news outlet wrote that Armenia and Azerbaijan have accused each other of violating the latest ceasefire over Nagorno-Karabakh, minutes after it came into effect.

CNN news agency did not cover the Karabakh conflict during this period.

Reuters news agency published 11 articles in the specified monitoring period. According to the news outlet US President Donald Trump has stated that he is disappointed with the collapse of the ceasefire agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The media outlet also referred to the losses of the sides among the civilian population.

The Associated Press published 4 articles during the specified monitoring period. The news outlet referred to the recent developments, noting that Armenia and Azerbaijan keep fighting despite previously reached cease-fire deal.
