The general picture of the coverage of the Karabakh conflict in the Foreign media from October 19 to 21

From October 19 to 21, 2020, “Media Advocate” initiative monitored the publications of 5 leading foreign media outlets to find out how the foreign media covered the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan. The websites of the following media outlets were monitored: “BBC”, “CNN”, “Reuters”, “Associated Press” (AP), and “Deutsche Welle” (DW-English version).

The BBC news agency published 1 extensive article titled as “Nagorno-Karabakh: The Armenian-Azeri ‘information wars’.” Despite the sufficient evidence presented, the agency considers the presence of foreign mercenaries in the Azerbaijani troops “highly controversial.”

CNN news agency published a video report summarizing the highlights of the day on October 19, in which it also referred to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Reuters news agency published 9 articles in the specified monitoring period. The media outlet referred to the visit of the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan to Brussels, the speech of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, in which the Head of the Government noted that he does not see a diplomatic solution to the conflict at this stage.
