The general picture of the coverage of the Karabakh conflict in the Foreign media on October 15

On October 15, 2020, “Media Advocate” initiative monitored the publications of 5 leading foreign media outlets to find out how the foreign media covered the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan. The websites of the following media outlets were monitored: “BBC”, “CNN”, “Reuters”, “Associated Press” (AP), and “Deutsche Welle” (DW).

The BBC, CNN and Deutsche Welle news agencies did not refer to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in their yesterday’s publications.

Reuters news agency published 5 articles in the specified monitoring period. The news agency published U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s statement where he criticized Turkey’s involvement in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict․ The media outlet referred to the interview of the RA Prime Minister Pashinyan given to the Russian “Ria Novosti” agency, in which the RA Prime Minister noted that the solution of the Nagorno Karabakh issue should be acceptable for everyone. The agency also published the speech of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The Associated Press published 2 articles during the specified monitoring period. In its extensive article, the agency notes that “Armenia, Azerbaijan tensions rise amid claims of new attacks”. The other publication of the media tells about the volunteers from Artsakh, who are going to join the Armed Forces to defend their homeland.
