The general picture of the coverage of the Karabakh conflict in the Foreign media on October 13

On October 13, 2020, “Media Advocate” initiative monitored the publications of 5 leading foreign media outlets to find out how the foreign media covered the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan. The websites of the following media outlets were monitored: “BBC”, “CNN”, “Reuters”, “Associated Press” (AP), and “Deutsche Welle” (DW).

The BBC news agency published 1 extensive report during the specified monitoring period titled as: “Nagorno-Karabakh: Ethnic Armenians on life under fire.” In the report made by BBC journalist Steve Rosenberg, the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh describe life under fire in the conflict with Azerbaijani forces.

CNN news agency did nor refer to the Karabakh conflict in its publications.

Reuters news agency published 6 articles in the specified monitoring period. One of its articles deals extensively with the history of the conflict, as well as the possible risks.

The Associated Press published 1 article during the specified monitoring period. In its extensive article, the agency notes that “Deaths mount in Armenia-Azerbaijan clashes amid truce calls”.

Deutsche Welle news agency is one of the media outlets actively covering the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but it did not address the issue in its October 13 publications.
