Three Russian journalists were wounded in Shushi

On October 8, three Russian journalists were injured as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani side of the Ghazanchetsots Church in Shushi. Two of them, Levon Arzanov and Yuri Kotenok, underwent a surgery, there is no immediate danger to the lives of journalists.

“Media Advocate” initiative condemns such aggressive manifestations of Azerbaijan. We draw the attention of international structures to the fact that the Azerbaijani side again targeted the journalists, opening fire not at the military, but at the cultural structure – at the church where the journalists happened to be at that time. Military action against people who are not combatants is unacceptable and is a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

“Media Advocate” wishes the foreign colleagues a speedy recovery, expressing hope that their state of health will allow them to quickly return to the implementation of their mission and continue to cover the real picture of the military actions in Artsakh. We also want to express our gratitude to the doctors who save lives due to their professionalism.
