Only negative articles were published on Tigran Avinyan

From 1 to 10 August, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the RA Deputy Prime Minister, Commandant Tigran Avinyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored. In the specified period, 263 articles were declared, 58 of which were negative and 205 were neutral.

Only negative articles were published on Commandant Tigran Avinyan.

Marine Sukiasyan, a member of the “Alternative Projects Group” initiative, referring to the fight against Covid 19 in Armenia, wrote: “Commandant Avinyan, who is notable for his constant absence, equally shares the responsibility for the unrestrained spread of the infection and various death cases. The Commandant could not think of anything smarter than the Gestapo fines, and as always, in all difficult conditions, he does not exist.”

Many consider the fight against coronavirus failed. According to them, the director of the Nork Infectious Clinical Hospital, Mher Davidyants, was a scapegoat. According to press publications, the next scapegoat may be Commandant Tigran Avinyan.

In a conversation with the press, the deputy of the NA “Bright Armenia” fraction Taron Simonyan, answering the question about Commandant’s decision to prolong the state of emergency, said: “This is an inefficient policy, and, naturally, this extension has not only a legal problem in itself, as it does not meet the requirements of the law, but also is inefficient from the point of view of management. The other side of the coin is what political goals our authorities try to solve with this decision. ”
