The chairman of the Public Council Styopa Safaryan made a post on his Facebook page which is not suitable for his position. He first mocked the journalist of the 5th channel Agnesa Khamoyan, then made insulting remarks regarding the work of the news outlet.
“Media Advocate” initiative urges the chairman of the Public Council to realize the seriousness of his position and not to go beyond the borders of politeness. We urge the PC chairman not to label free speech, the professional work of journalists, as well as not to insult the TV commentator.
In a tense military situation, the chairman of the Security Council should have been engaged in more meaningful activities rather than labeling journalists and inciting interethnic hatred.
