Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan’s spokesman, referring to the work of the media, again labeled the journalists. Recently, the Deputy Mayor of Etchmiatsin has also made insulting remarks.
The state officials must realize the importance of cooperation with the media outlets. It is in their interests to establish friendly relations with the media. There are more polite and official methods to disagree with the unwanted material published by the media, and as a spokesman, Hakob Karapetyan should consider it more than anyone else.
“Media Advocate” initiative urges Hakob Karapetyan to reconsider his Facebook post and to present his disagreement with the media in a way more suitable for a state official.
