“Media Advocate” initiative urges not to mock at the media

A Facebook post was published on Armday.am, according to which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan bought a private house in Canada.

On the Facebook page of Armday.am website editor-in-chief Tatev Ayvazyan, Anna Hakobyan, referring to the article, noted: “It was very impressive 🙂 Some other media outlets even call and ask for comments, t find out whether it is true or false 🙂 I bought one, even more luxurious one in Argentina, one in Brazil, one last year, in Iceland. Moreover, during every such visit, I buy, mansion which at least is worth 2 million. Now, let me google photos of them and send them, so as you will be able to make news out of it :)”.

“Media Advocate” initiative has contacted Tatev Ayvazyan. The editor-in-chief noted that their media outlet is not the initial source of the material, she added that the newspaper belonging to Anna Hakobyan’s family is and has always been publishing unilateral materials.

Tatev Ayvazyan offered Anna Hakobyan to present an official denying statement, which will also be published on Armday.am.

According to the editor-in-chief, there is no need to respond to the news outlet with sarcasm, instead it will be better to publish an official denial.

“Media Advocate” initiative urges not to mock at the media, to respect the colleagues. Successful work with the media must be based on mutual cooperation and friendly relations.
