From 21 to 31 May, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s personality and activities.
35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 166 articles were declared, 18 of which were negative and 148 were neutral.
No positive articles were published on Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
Referring to the Foreign Ministry, the press wrote: “Hardly anyone will be able to overestimate the role of the Foreign Ministry in the life of the country. On the other hand, this is the ministry criticism towards which is a kind of ungrateful thing, because if you criticize the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs in particular, it turns out that you criticize the state, and this is not a proper move.”
According to another publication, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan hides the truth. “Yes, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan is lying. Yes, Nikol Pashinyan is lying. They are lying because accepting the truth in the statements of Lavrov and Aliyev and others, will simply mean accepting that official Yerevan has adopted a treacherous path. Such kind of paths are adopted, but never, never openly confessed.
An anti-Armenian, inadmissible process is taking place in the negotiation process. That is a fact. To deny that is to express a conspiratorial lie.”
It is mentioned that Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has 7 advisers and 2 assistants, which, in its turn, requires a great allowance from the state budget.
