Why do they reject Petros Ghazaryan’s invitation?

The controversial Lanzarote Convention (Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse), which was ratified by the National Assembly on May 11, was discussed on May 17 on Public TV pavilion. Unfortunately, only unilateral opinions were voiced on the delicate issue of protecting our children from sexual abuse. Only one of five invited people had a different opinion and expressed concerns about this convention of the European Council, the others spoke only about the positive aspects of it. The discussion was one-sided, though Petros Ghazaryan mentioned at the beginning of the program that he had called ten people, but they refused to take part in the program for various reasons. Gevorg Petrosyan’s name was mentioned, who said that he was not in the city, but, as one of the program guests, “My Step” fraction MP Gayane Abrahamyan noted, she has seen him in the parliament. It was mentioned that the PAP deputy signed the convention 10 years ago but now, in fact, expresses a different opinion, and acts against it. The question arises why Gevorg Petorsyan rejected Petros Ghazaryan’s invitation and did not come to defend his point of view. By the way, in the comments Petros Ghazaryan was asked to publish the names of the people who refused to take part in the program, but Petros Ghazaryan refused to give names.

“Media Advocate” initiative urges Petros Ghazaryan to publish names so that we can find out the reason why the representatives of other political forces rejected the invitation. Otherwise, it turns out that Petros Ghazaryan does not mind that only opinions supporting the government’s point of view are voiced and that he is not keen on having a comprehensive program.
