According to Analitik.am news agency, a man who introduced himself as Sergey Barseghyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s assistant Suzanna Barseghyan’s brother, called the Analitik.am editorial office 4-5 times in the morning of May 8.
He demanded from the news outlet to reveal the name of the person who published an article on Suzanna Barseghyan, saying that he wants to talk to the editor-in-chief, in response to which they informed that he will be contacted later. Then the man again called, this time insulting, cursing and threatening the media outlet.
“Media Advocate” initiative considers such attacks on the press unacceptable. We urge citizens and officials to be consistent with the pressure on freedom of speech․
We urge the RA Police to be consistent with the above-mentioned case and to take appropriate measures, ensuring the security of the editorial and the employees of the media outlet.
