Most of the articles published on Ararat Mirzoyan are negative

From 21 to 30 April, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 230 articles were declared, 49 of which were negative, 13 were positive and 168 were neutral.

Both negative and positive articles have been written on the RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, though the negative ones prevail. According to media reports, the interpersonal relations among CC (Civil Contract) party members have become quite tense. According to press reports, Anna Karapetyan and Vardan Atanesyan will soon resign from a mandate.

In a conversation with media, the CC-related source answered to the question if Vardan is going to resign for disobedience and for the sake of Simidyan, why should Anna resign, it is known that she is under the auspices of Ararat Mirzoyan? “We also didn’t get it,” noted the source: “Ararat was sitting silently watching all the happening. Maybe the reason is that Anna had certain ties with previous authorities as she was Hovhannes Sahakyan’s assistant”. And if they do not resign from the mandates, what will happen? “It’s impossible, the issue of some other MPs is being discussed as well, such as Sona, Taguhi, etc.”

According to the press, the incident between Alen Simonyan and Edmon Marukyan started after Alen Simonyan insulted Ani Samsonyan. Referring to the incident, the press wrote: “Thus, targeting women in our parliament becomes one of the favorite occupations of male MPs. And the most unpleasant and surprising thing is that the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, who could officially reprimand his colleague by right of his position, considered Edmon Marukyan’s intervention as a provocation, as the latter was vexed at Alen Simonyan’s speech.”

According to another media report, relations between Ararat Mirzoyan and Tigran Avinyan are also tense. Besides, according to the publication, Nikol Pashinyan also wants Tigran Avinyan’s resignation. Pashinyan is trying to throw him ashore, suffocate him, however, there are already rumors in the team that NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan no longer has “lichny nepriyazn” (personal dislike) against Tigran Avinyan. The same “grey eminence” Avinyan, by the way, easily made Mirzoyan move from the First Deputy Prime Minister position to NA to spend time there fiddling about, so as he takes control of the whole sphere of the executive branch.”
