After yesterday’s meeting of the commission investigating the circumstances of the 2016 April War in the National Assembly, Andranik Kocharyan, in a conversation with journalists, got a bit angry when the journalist asked about his son’s avoidance of conscription.
Kocharyan asked, “Which news outlet are you from?” The journalist answered “Yerevan Today”. Kocharyan replied, “It is clear.” Isn’t anyone interested in this issue from Hraparak?” Andranik Kocharyan introduced his son to the journalists, noting that he had received a decent education and wonderfully defended his thesis.
“Media Advocate” urges Andranik Kocharyan to respect the media and their work, it was obvious that there was irony in his words. The latter regularly shows obvious intolerance towards journalists, in particular, divides them into insiders and outsiders. Such an attitude and behavior do not suit the NA deputy, who is also the chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security. It should be noted that the issue of conscription of Andranik Kocharyan’s son is important and of a public character for a country which is in a state of war, and, of course, is interesting to journalists. It was not understandable why the MP was surprised when hearing such question and why he considered it as a personal matter.
