Both positive and negative articles were published on Arayik Harutyunyan

From 1 to 10 April, 2020, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Minister Arayik Harutyunyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 141 articles were declared, 8 of which were negative, 14 were positive and 119 were neutral.

Both positive and negative articles were published on ESCS Minister Arayik Harutyunyan. According to publications, Arayik Harutyunyan does not know Armenian in a proper way. “Officials’ improper knowledge of Armenian is punishable by a fine of two hundred to two hundred and fifty times the minimum wage.” It sounds strange, but Arayik Harutyunyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, does not stand out with his knowledge of Armenian. If corruption and sponsorship have been abolished in Armenia, as Prime Minister Pashinyan has repeatedly stated, if everyone is equal before the law, and we have 3 million prime ministers in the country, then why does the “Prime Minister” of the Language Committee David Gyurjinyan suggest not to initiate proceedings on the non-Armenian posts of ordinary “prime ministers”, and at the same time, does not initiate them in relation to the language deteriorations of “Prime Ministers” Arayik Harutyunyan and Tatevik Revazyan”?

According to media reports, an obscure situation has been created over the elections of YSU Rector. “Now it turns out that the situation became even more complicated. The thing is that, by the decision of the government, the powers of the members of the Board of Trustees expired on April 1, that is, in fact, the Board of Trustees does not function at the moment, as a result of which the election of YSU Rector remains uncertain. The Minister of Education, Science and some other spheres, Arayik Harutyunyan, in a conversation with one of the media outlets today, referred to the situation around YSU and noted that in the current state of emergency, the above-mentioned issue has not been discussed yet, and only after consulting with lawyers, they will decide their further steps.”

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan presented a proposal on ensuring the availability of distance learning, which envisages providing state-sponsored internet connection and tablets for families in need so as they are provided with the opportunity to organize the educational process of their children. This idea was welcomed.
