Օn March 28, “Media Advocate” Initiative monitored the work of the Commandant’s office with the media in emergency situation.
The Commandant’s Office has denied the news published by Operativ.am, according to which 3 people had died in Armenia because of Coronavirus. They stated that such news is based only on assumptions and noted that the information was not clarified with the Commandant’s Office or the Ministry of Health before being released.
According to the press release, information was published on Armdaily.am, on a case of coronavirus that was registered in Hrazdan. The police contacted the editorial office and reported that it is a violation of the state of emergency. The editorial was requested to remove the material, which was done.
“Media Advocate” Initiative also highlighted the articles on the coronavirus and coronavirus-related issues appearing in the media on March 28. As a result of today’s monitoring, the featured articles were reviewed and no removed publications were found, except for the above-mentioned.
