Many negative articles were published on Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan. In some analytical publications it is noted that after Taron Margaryan’s tenure, Hayk Marutyan was elected only due to the revolutionary euphoria. In another analysis regarding the same issue it is noted: “While during elections of Council of Elders, “My Step” party list was headed by current mayor Hayk Marutyan, people went to the polling stations not to elect the council or its first number, but Nikol Pashinyan, who started the election campaign loaded for a bear, reaffirming that the election was between himself and others.”

According to “Luys” fraction member David Khazhakyan, we have a situation where the Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan’s promise is not fulfilled. He explained that the mayor had made it very clear that a tender for the purchase of hundreds of buses should be announced by the end of February. “It is urgent as the public transport besides being in a very serious condition, is also worn out and it is constantly getting out of operation and the problem is getting even worse,” Khazhakyan added.

There has been a lot of criticism these days when it became clear that Hayk Marutyan went on vacation again. According to various viewpoints, when there is a fatal situation in the country, the mayor should not go on vacation.
