“Media Advocate” Initiative conducts a series of meetings within the framework of its observation mission of the April 5 referendum on amendments to the RA Constitution. This time “Media Advocate” met with Bright Armenia Party MPs Ani Samsonyan and Gevorg Gorgisyan. The deputies presented their views on the referendum. “Media Advcoate” in its turn presented its observations on the course of the campaign and the recorded violations.
The MPs noted in their speech that they continue to adhere to the principle stated by their party, that is not to participate in the campaign in any format. According to them, as a result of it, the ruling power is deprived of the opportunity to target anyone and carry out the campaign the way they want to.
During the meeting an agreement was reached on mutual assistance. Before the referendum and on the referendum day, if the referendum takes place, of course, (considering the epidemic situation), “Media Advocate” Initiative and the “Bright Armenia” party will inform of the problems occurred to each other for the sake of electoral institution protection. Bright Armenia Party, highlighting importance to the control of the referendum, expressed hope that no violations would be registered.
