On March 9, Public Television Allocated 33 Minutes to the “YES” headquarters and 2 minutes 46 seconds to the “NO” campaign side

On March 9, the Public Television of Armenia, operating at the expense of taxpayers, allocated 27 minutes 39 seconds to the topic of the constitutional referendum, 2 minute 46 seconds of which were allocated to the supporters of the “NO” campaign, 23 minutes to the “YES” supporters, and 1 minutes 53 seconds neutral remarks were presented. The Public TV also aired “YES” and “NO” campaign video clips of up to 1-minute duration each.

The announcement of the “No” campaign side was again aired on the Public Television (1 minute 10). The “NO” propaganda side continues to engage confidants.

During the news issue, Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) MP Iveta Tonoyan’s speech was aired (1 minute 36 seconds). According to her, there are certain problems; “The authorities will have the opportunity to present the exact purpose and advisability of the referendum, so as to determine the content, that is, the idea of the referendum, because in some cases one may notice here a revolutionary rather than constitutional referendum campaign.”

Edmon Marukyan’s speech (2 minutes 45 seconds) was also presented during the news issue. Marukyan noted that the referendum will take place anyway and added that the public trusts the authorities. Marukyan also noted: “Neither the victory of “YES” nor the defeat of “YES” will in any way lead to great changes, because the issue that is put to a referendum has little connection with our realities.”

Suren Papikyan (20 minutes) was the guest of the program “Interview with Petros Ghazaryan”. He noted that the the use of administrative resource is an artificial agenda. According to him, the public reaction to the referendum is positive.
