On March 6, Public Television Allocated 15 Minutes 40 Seconds to the Topic of the Constitutional Referendum

On March 6, the Public Television of Armenia, operating at the expense of taxpayers, allocated 15 minutes 40 seconds to the topic of the constitutional referendum, 5 minutes of which were allocated to the supporters of the “NO” campaign, 8 minutes 30 seconds to the “YES” supporters, 2 minutes 10 seconds were neutral remarks. The Public TV also aired “YES” and “NO” campaign video clips of up to 1-minute duration each.

During the news issue, a statement about the confidants of the “NO” propaganda party was disseminated (5 minutes). The statement specified the requirements for receiving an accreditation.

Hayk Stver’s video clip devoted to the “Yes” campaign was also presented (1 minute 5 seconds).

NA Vice-Speaker Alen Simonyan spoke referred to the inner political developments during his visit in the United States (5 minutes).

Alen Simonyan noted that the influence of Armenians living abroad on the events taking place in the country is very big and can change the outcome of any electoral process. “I urge those people who have RA citizenship and have the opportunity to vote and currently live here, to be in the RA on April 5 and exercise their right to vote and participate in the referendum elections.”

P.S. The head of the Public Television news department quotes the word “professionalism” and complains that the “NO” propaganda side is passive and that is the reason why “NO” is allocated a short period of time. These excuses would have been appropriate if Gevorg Gorgisyan’s remark, as well as the feedback of lawyer Arsen Babayan and Tigran Mukuchyan, who have noticed the fact that Suren Papikyan has been conducting a campaign at the NA platform, had been aired on the Public Television. “Media Advocate” initiative has just reported the absence of a fact. The reason why the head of the news department is justifying the matter, is up to Petros Ghazaryan, we just congratulate him on his wife’s appointment as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
