From 21 to 30 November, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Vice-president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan’s personality and activities.
35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 138 articles were declared, 48 of which were negative and 90 were neutral.
A large number of negative articles were declared on NA Vice Speaker Alen Simonyan. Negative articles on the NA Speaker and Vice-Speaker prevail and have increased during the recent monitoring periods.
According to press reports, Lena Nazaryan, Lilit Makunts and Alen Simonyan have become Nikol Pashinyan’s executors. They are said to be executing Nikol Pashinyan’s secret or explicit instructions.
Alen Simonyan has recently stated that if Nikol Pashinyan says that Bastille should be seized, everyone will follow the call and will join. The press wrote after this statement: “In fact, this observation of the NA Vice Speaker was based on the great delusion that the whole “Civil Contract “party is into, without seeing the growing public disappointment and discontent with the revolutionary power and, first of all, with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. But this is not the only delusion of Alen Simonyan, Nikol Pashinyan and the CC.”
According to the press, in 2017 Eduard Aghajanyan, who is currently the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, noted that Alen Simonyan had failed the process of organizing the PR of the Civil Contract.
According to publications, Alen Simonyan wants to ban the fir trees sale on New Year’s Eve. The press notes that the sale of fir is a common practice throughout the world and is nothing but a common agricultural practice as the fir is grown and sold like cabbage, that is to say, this law may sound good only at first glance.
