Both negative and positive articles are written on Anna Hakobyan

From 11 to 20 November, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 249 articles were declared, 39 of which were negative, 29 were positive and 181 were neutral.

Both negative and positive articles on Mrs. Anna Hakobyan continue being written by media outlets. During recent monitoring periods, negative articles are diverse.

According to reports, corruption revelations should be sought in Charity Foundation founded by Anna Hakobyan.

Anna Hakobyan’s meeting with Harout Nercessian, Director of the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) was criticized.

“Mel” film is still being discussed. Political scientist Gagik Hambaryan notes: “I consider the co-financing of the film unnecessary and a very luxurious initiative. If Mr. Pashinyan wanted so much to take part in the filmmaking, any of Anna Hakobyan’s foundations could donate that 20 million drams, not the state.”

According to media reports, when Nikol Pashinyan sitting next to Anna Hakobyan in Paris, announced that emigration was reduced by about 90%, even Anna Hakobyan was surprised by that statement.

It is noted that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has created two new positions in the government staff specifically for Anna Hakobyan. According to the publication, people who work in these positions receive salaries from the state budget in order to serve Anna Hakobyan.

On November 18 Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s spouse Anna Hakobyan, the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “My Step” and “City of Smiles” charity foundations, had a meeting with Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius during her visit to Vilnius. Linas Linkevičius wished Hakobyan good luck in her initiatives and expressed willingness to support their implementation.

Anna Hakobyan and the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva visited the children with cancer and blood diseases.
