From 21 to 31 October, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly Naira Zohrabyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 150 articles were declared, 18 of which were positive, 3 were negative and 129 were neutral.
Naira Zohrabyan has been again positively assessed by the media. Animal welfare organizations have welcomed the adoption of the law proposed by Naira Zohrabyan. Mrs. Zohrabyan continues her activities in the public sphere and regularly comments on various political issues.
An incident occurred in the National Assembly between Ararat Mirzoyan and Naira Zohrabyan. According to Naira Zohrabyan, she had deja vu, as the current authorities act the way their predecessors used to as the National Assembly continues rejecting the drafts proposed by opposition representatives. Ararat Mirzoyan, in his turn, responded to Mrs. Zohrabyan noting that she may check how many approved projects were put forward by the opposition and then state whether she should have deja vu or not.
Taguhi Ghazaryan explained why she didn’t vote for Naira Zohrabyan’s draft. She noted that the procedure was surprising to her, but, despite it, she had no personal intention not to vote. She also noted that she supports Zohrabyan’s draft and added that the only part that surprises her in the draft is that the dogfights will be allowed.
