“Media Advocate” urges to uphold the principle of comprehensive media coverage

One of the reports of Azatutyun TV news center’s October 28 issue presented the trial of David Sanasaryan, the head of the State Control Service whose powers were terminated early on. After the trial, Sanasaryan spoke to reporters, presenting his point of view on the essence of the accusation against him. He particularly noted: “They conduct a policy of keeping me away from the political arena.” It is also noted that Sanasaryan blamed Vanetsyan during his recent press conference, noting that the case against him was directed by former NSS director Arthur Vanetsyan. Presenting the position of only one side, not including Vanetsyan’s position in the report, and not getting Vanetsyan’s clarification, show that the journalist’s approach was biased. “Media Advocate” urges RFE/RL’s News Service to uphold the principle of comprehensive media coverage
