Lilit Makunts has not been actively covered

From 11 to 20 October, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Lilit Makunts’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 40 articles were declared, 22 of which were negative, 1 was positive and 17 were neutral.

Both Lena Nazaryan and Lilit Makunts has not been actively covered during this ten-day period, besides it, the latter has not been particularly active during our monitoring either.

Media continues publishing reports stating that Nikol Pashinyan accuses Lilit Makunts of failing to work with MPs in the National Assembly. According to another report, Lilit Makunts fails to control some members of the ruling party as well.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was elected as the Chairman of Yerevan Chess Federation: 30 members voted for the candidacy, 1 voted against and 4 abstained. An article has been published after this publication, which states that if this kind of logic is considered, Lilit Makunts may be appointed as the President of the Figure Skating Federation.

In fact, Makunts is not actively engaged in any political activity. Lilit Makunts’ name is discussed in a positive or negative context only in the framework of internal intrigues.
