The Public TV hurried and presented incomplete information

On October 13, the news broadcast of the Public Television of Armenia included a report on the property of the president of the Constitutional Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan․ The journalist made the report based only on the publication of “1in.am” which was titled as “Hrayr Tovmasyan’s “hidden” property”. The Public TV has presented those facts as new revelations, in case that there are not any sufficient grounds to make such kind of a claim. At the end of the report, the journalist, of course, mentions that they tried to ask clarifications from the Constitutional Court, but the chief of staff noted that it was a day-off. The Public TV of Armenia hurried and preferred to present incomplete information rather than to wait for a day.

“Media Advocate” initiative notes that such behavior is the result of a political campaign launched by the authorities against the Constitutional Court president. We again urge the Public TV to provide comprehensive and grounded information.
