Both negative and positive articles were declared on Lilit Makunts

From 21 to 30 September, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Lilit Makunts’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 138 articles were declared, 21 of which were negative, 18 were positive and 99 were neutral.

Both negative and positive articles were declared on MP Lilit Makunts. However, it should be noted that both negative and positive articles are not diverse and mainly do not refer to her political activity but party’s internal issues.

According to media reports, various groups have been formed in “My Step”, which, in their turn, hold separate meetings. The news outlets also note that Mrs․ Makunts is a de jure leader, and in fact, she is unable to manage the faction and fails to gather everyone in the same place. Moreover, “My Step” members have disagreements in almost all issues

The news according to which the National Cinema Center of Armenia will henceforth pay the authors for copyright when broadcasting their films was considered as positive. It is noted that this process began when Lilit Makunts was still the Minister of Culture. It is also mentioned that Lilit Makunts is in Prime Minister’s list of trustworthy people.
