Alen Simonyan is also being criticized for Amulsar case

From 21 to 31 July, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Vice-president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 97 articles were declared, 27 of which were negative, 2 were positive and 68 were neutral.

The NA Vice Speaker Alen Simonyan, is also being criticized for Amulsar case. In fact, Amulsar remains an unsolvable mindbreaker for all the wings of the current power. ARF Bureau member Arsen Hambardzumyan, referring to Alen Simonyan’s assessment of ARF’s position on Amulsar, according to which the ARF aims to please the public and seek political action, noted: “I have no desire to comment on anyone, especially on Alen Simonyan. Our views and approaches are exact. The ARF has made a statement, and former Minister of Environment, Artsvik Minasyan has made extensive comments on the matter.”

Environmentalist Apres Zohrabyan, in his turn, described the words of Alen Simonyan addressed to the environmental camp, as nonsense.

MP Gevorg Gorgisyan’s wife and Alen Simonyan have had a debate on Facebook comments, which has been a subject of discussions. Gorgisyan’s wife, Gayane Ter-Astvatsatryan, wrote under Tigran Avinyan’s post: “We were worth it, we have given you over 70% votes, so that you behave in this cynical way,” after which the vice-speaker joined the debate and asked: “Gayane Ter-Astvatsatryan, but you are from “Bright Armenia”, did you vote for us? I just ask.”

This has caused some criticism on the social networks. Many Facebook users ask whether the ruling power should work only for those who voted for them.
