According to media reports, the head of one of the wings of the government is Ararat Mirzoyan

From 21 to 31 August, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 233 articles were declared, 75 of which were negative, 2 were positive and 156 were neutral.

Negative articles on the NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan make up a large percentage. The problems differ and there are almost no answers.

Issues related to NA personnel and structural changes continue in the National Assembly. According to media outlets, Ararat Mirzoyan decided to conduct an official investigation. He is trying to find out those who are guilty of sending the staff to the reserve. According to publications, Ararat Mirzoyan is not being honest as these processes have been agreed with him. The news outlet says that it is not fair to make Tigran Galstyan a scapegoat.

It is noted that different wings have been formed in the government and one of those wings is headed by Ararat Mirzoyan. According to publications, these wings do not tolerate each other and are in internal struggle.

The media also referred to some of Mirzoyan’s earlier statements. It is recalled that Ararat Mirzoyan had spoken about the sale of children’s organs at the government session, which was not substantiated either. According to the same article, Ararat Mirzoyan was the main figure to be involved in the formation of the NA “My Step” faction.

According to publications, Ararat Mirzoyan, who is constantly speaking about optimization, has decided to double his staff. Ara Babloyan’s staff was reduced from 22 to 6. That number would change again.

The closing of the gates of the National Assembly has also been criticized. For example, Daniel Ioannisyan, founder and program coordinator of the “Union of Informed Citizens” NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: “As the National Assembly led by Ararat Mirzoyan puts the issue of permission to hold a meeting in the parliament yard on NSS (National Security Service) I remember when such thing happened last time and simply undesirable things came to my mind.”
