The critical publications on Armen Sargsyan become harsher

From 11 to 20 August, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 175 articles were declared, 16 of which were negative, 18 were positive and 141 were neutral.

During this ten-day period, positive and negative articles on the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, are almost equal. The critical publications, however, become harsher.

The media has defined Armen Sargsyan’s intra-Armenian visits as “tours” or “excursions”. It is also noted that by his actions Armen Sargsyan has lowered the rating of the president’s institute so much that it can be said that if such governing position does not exist, nothing will change in the country.

According to media reports, Armen Sargsyan has reached an agreement with MP Arman Babajanyan. In addition, it is noted that Armen Sargsyan has far-reaching goals of cooperation with the Bright Armenia Party.

Former MP Zaruhi Postanjyan has filed a complaint to the police. According to Zaruhi Postanjyan, Armen Sargsyan is holding the post of the President illegally. Former MP links Armen Sargsyan’s name to “Lydian” company; Mrs. Postanjyan is against its operation.

Along with all this, media outlets and public and political figures also point out that Armen Sargsyan at least at this stage has nothing to do with “Lydian Armenia” and somehow engaging him in this process is at least unfair.
